Calling all dog walkers and cyclists and other interested people. Kim Coles and June Player are organising a litter pick along Linear Park. Volunteers are asked to meeting at 2.30 p.m. at the Dartmouth Avenue Gate so that gloves, pickers and bags can be handed out to those who want/need them.
Once we have initially met people are obviously free to go and pick a certain area if they so wish, but we need to know which so that we can get as much as possible picked. Expecting to end at 4.30 p.m. ish. Please pass this on to as many people as possible.
Very important that any equipment handed out is returned to Kim or June as it belongs to the Council who once again have offered them. Some may belong to “On-Board” so please make sure that they are given back to June Player. A collection point for the bags will be arranged so that the Council can pick them up afterwards. NO Grumpy dogs allowed I’m afraid but their owners are more than welcome!! For safety reasons no-one must pick up any needles if not wearing proper gloves and they must be put in to a proper container.
We are hoping that not only will this be improving the area but also be an opportunity for people to meet others. Be prepared for hateful weather – just in case! Contact us if you need to find out more.
