The Council has today issued a notice about the various road closures associated with the forthcoming Bath Half Marathon on Sunday 7th March 2010.

BATH AND NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, BATH) (BATH HALF MARATHON) ORDER 2010

Notice is hereby given that the Bath and North East Somerset Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to:-

a) Close temporarily to pedestrians, vehicles and cycles the roads and lengths of roads, excluding footways, specified in Schedule 1 to this Notice between the dates and times specified in column 3 of Schedule 1;
b) Introduce temporarily No Waiting Restrictions on the roads and lengths of road specified in Schedule 2 to this Notice between the dates and times specified in column 3 of Schedule 2 and suspend any current provisions to wait or park on these roads or lengths of roads;
c) Introduce temporarily No Waiting Restrictions on the roads and lengths of road specified in Schedule 3 to this Notice between the dates and times specified in column 3 of Schedule 3 and suspend any current provisions to wait or park on these roads or lengths of roads;
d) Close to pedestrians between 0800 hours and 1530 hours on Sunday 7 March 2010 the footways and lengths of footways specified in Schedule 4 to this Notice, except for access;
e) Suspend between 1000 hours and 1530 hours on Sunday 7 March 2010 The Bath and North East Somerset Council (Various Roads, Bath) (Bus Lanes) Order 2006 as varied insofar as it relates to the bus lane on High Street / Northgate Street;
f) Suspend between 1000 hours and 1530 hours on Sunday 7 March 2010 The County Council of Avon (City of Bath) (Central Area) (General Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation) Order 1988 as varied insofar as it relates to the One Way and the Prohibition of Use in that length of Avon Street which extends from its junction with Corn Street to its junction with James Street West;
g) Introduce between 1000 hours and 1530 hours on Sunday 7 March 2010 a One Way Restriction in a southerly direction in that length of Avon Street which extends from its junction with James Street West to its junction with Corn Street;
h) Suspend between 1000 hours and 1530 hours on Sunday 7 March 2010 The County Council of Avon (City of Bath) (Central Area) (General Traffic Regulation) (Consolidation) Order 1988 as varied insofar as it relates to the One Way in that length of St James’s Parade which extends from its junction with Corn Street to its junction with Dorchester Street;
i) Introduce between 1000 hours and 1530 hours on Sunday 7 March 2010 a One way Restriction in a north westerly direction in that length of St James’s Parade which extends from its junction with Corn Street to its junction with Lower Borough Wall,.
j) Close temporarily to vehicles, except for buses and coaches requiring access to the bus station, the length of St James’s Parade from the boundary of 30 and 32 to its junction with Broad Quay between 1000 hours and 1530 hours on Sunday 7 March 2010,
k) Introduce between 1000 hours and 1530 hours on Sunday 7 March 2010 the use of one of the entrance lanes into Avon Street car park, from Corn Street, as an exit.
This order will be operative on 6 and 7 March 2010 and is required in connection with the Bath Half Marathon.

The order will not prevent access for pedestrians to premises situated on or adjacent to any road to which the order relates.
